Movie making & Social Media....

I have been lurking around on the insight of social media realm and just pondering what would be the next step into the world of social media. When it has already forayed into the different sectors of our life and business and is flourishing brilliantly what would be its area to settle? After thinking a lot I have an idea- Social media and Movie making.
The concept of using social media either in movie production or direction can be an interesting task to work upon and as far as I see it would bring more innovation in the movie world. Either Bollywood or Hollywood a huge amount of money is spent in movie making whether in production, direction, on cast and crew, in sight selection, etc so how social media would be a help into it?
Let’s assume a situation, you want to direct a movie which is different from all other movies and for that you want to select a location which has never ever seen on big picture. But the thing is how to search for it? It’s very simple, allow people to give you suggestion on social media because you can not go to each and every location and also it’s both time & cost wasting. So, ask people to make a video of their recommended location and from this you can decide what to do?
Similarly, with the help of social media you can search for new crew which exactly suits the base of movie. In fact you can ask people to suggest a good movie name, who should be the lead actor and supporting actor, who fits best in the negative shade, where to shoot the film and so on.
Now the question is why to go for all these things? Because when you will serve what exactly the people wants, at the end you will get success. If they see what they want, definitely your movie will rock the world. With that said each and every single step of movie production and direction can be delivered to social media, than either run a campaign or promote it on social media. As we have already seen that promotion of movies onto social media is very successful on Facebook, so why not to start a movie from social media itself.
The benefits of this would be very fruitful. Firstly it will give you new choices which being a producer/director you have never thought of. Secondly, it will save the cost to search for undiscovered and hidden location. Thirdly, it will save the expensive time of yours. Fourthly, after the site selection you can obviously choose the natives for small roles where the shooting will take place as it will reduce the cost to carry all the cast & crew to each n every place. As this will bring more realistic approach in your movie. Along with that it will also give chance to new faces to work in a movie and will also provide job opportunities to them. Also you can give gift vouchers or free movie tickets to those people whose idea you choose in your movie and this thing will increase more enthusiasm in people to click on your movie on social media. See, one movie and so many benefits. Isn’t it really an advantage in front of all directors to work with social media? Moreover social media would be a new platform for beginners to start their own movie or documentary. This will give movie industry more Steven Speilberg and more Jackie Chan...
So what you are thinking now..interested in producing & directing the movie as per viewer’s choice? Go and grab social media platform and see the magic...I am just dreaming a movie where actor would be Arnold and Angelina, negative shade character would be played by Nicolas Cage & Kate Winselet, director would be David Cronenberg and producer would be J K Rollings... Amazing!!! isn’t it...woah I simply love Social media...
