In case you don’t know what is ghost blogging, let me give you a brief idea – writing articles, blog posts, generating content for media publicity and selling them to other's to be published under a different name. Do you think it's ethical for the corporates to hire a blogger to write for them? Is it right to take the credibility of other person's work and do you agree with the fact that the absolute fundamental of business is to satisfy the customers?
My vote goes against the corporates for taking the credibility of other's hard work to multiply profits.
Well, we all know why we are on social media and what inspires us to build relationships over social media beyond all geographical boundaries and that is the desire of recognition in the society which presents an opportunity to show our creativity and other numerous innovative ideas we generate each day. So, we participate in social media to let people know who we are and what our job is. So my point is people expect to see our creativity, thoughts, message in our blogs which contains the actual purpose of our presence on social media.
Same is what applies to corporate. Business blogging, Tweeting, having a Facebook page is all for the accomplishment of building recognition in the market and enhance customer base. But sometimes, it gives a negative impact of your company when you use someone else's work to accomplish your own tasks. What if it becomes apparent that you aren’t what you are portraying to be, you may lost all the respect in the market.
Ghost Blogging could be a source of income for many bloggers and it may sound commendable to many corporate lacking in good writers. But, either way, in my opinion, it is not a square deal.
Many people favor the condition of open ghost writing which means that authors name would remain original and company will have a disclosure that officially the blog, views and words were owned by them. I do not find it unethical but still this is not what is expected from a corporate.
I agree that not everyone has the creativity and accuracy which a professional blogger possess but still, the blog written in one's own words with one's own name imprinted alongside it makes more sense to me. This is my personal perception about ghost blogging but I would also suggest you to give a second thought too, when you are blogging for someone or hiring someone blogging for you.
